This past Christmas Eve during service we did something we've never done before. Instead of collecting an offering, we gave out a gift. It wasn't the usual kind of gift that you find under most Christmas trees. It wasn't a new toy, a gift card, or a new electronic gadget. It was a simple card with some text printed on it.
There were four different types of cards, and each one described a different mission partner that our church community has chosen as regular partners in ministry. This year, each of these partners will be getting a special end of the year Christmas gift from our community. Our gift to you, the New City Community was the knowledge of the impact that you are having on the world outside of our small community. Because of your generosity in 2011, we are able to bless others and encourage them in their ministry.
