Service Project Sampler

Posted on October 5, 2010 by webadmin

In the New Testament, we learn that the church is called the Body of Christ. That means many things, but one of them is that we are meant to act out the service oriented life of Jesus by serving others. We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community.

We want to create long-term, enduring partnerships with non-profits and other projects whose work is consistent with the work of Jesus. Over this upcoming Fall semester, we are going to try out a few different service projects and try to match the New City Community's gift set and passions with the needs of our local community. We are calling this our Fall Service Project Sampler. You can now sign up for any of the below listed service project at the online sign up.

Minneapolis Market -- Sept. 23rd
We are going to help check out, bag, carry groceries, welcome guests to the Minneapolis Market food shelf. The vision of the Minneapolis Market is "to provide club members with quality no cost food within a dignified environment."

New Life Family Services -- Oct. 11th
We are going to do a site visit and learn a little more about New Life Family Services. You can read more about them on their website.
